A few summers back I happened across a garage sale that had two large half gallon blue canning jars. This was before Ball had re-introduced the throwback blue color for sale once again. Of course I bought them, but besides using them to hold flowers I wasn’t sure what to do with them. When the smaller blue jars were introduced this last summer I bought several of them to use for drinking glasses as well. Now I was even more determined to find a way to incorporate these jars into my homes decor.
But what to do with them?
Ok, this is just going to blow your mind (like it did mine) but you can actually buy a canning jar lid that will easy and quickly turn any mason jar into a lamp. Wow, right? You wouldn’t think it was that easy, but it really is! Just screw on the canning jar lid, put in a bulb and find a lampshade that you like.
I love my new lamp so much I just had to share it with all of you. I mean, who knew it could be so easy!
If you want to know where to buy this kit to turn a canning jar into a lamp I have listed an amazon link below. You may be able to also find this at a craft store, but none of the stores around me carried it. Just need to know if your jar is a small or wide mouth jar before purchasing.
So now is the time for your opinion. 🙂
What, if anything, should I put inside my new canning jar lamp?
