It’s Sunday. What fun can we possibly have today?
This is usually the first question that runs through my mind every morning when I wake up. No, I don’t believe that every single day needs to be full of activity and excitement, but I do always try to make the very most out of every moment I am given.
Today is Sunday, game day. Since my husband always likes to sit and watch football with our kids (and I find it rather boring) I decided to spice things up a bit and make today’s “game day” into something the whole family could share by turning our everyday boring lunch into our own little game day party
. I must admit, in doing this I not only amused myself but the kids were full of excitement and my husband was pretty smitten with my unexpected display of interest.
Really, creating a fun display of game day foods took me no longer than creating my everyday meals thanks to Tyson Any’tizers (which I found on sale this week at Walmart for only $5.98!). <–thats a deal! And whats chicken without some fun dipping sauces? Yep, I found those too. Kraft has a new line of dipping sauces, awesome flavors don’t you think?
I paired the Tyson Any’tyzers with some fresh veggies and a tasty salad for a game winning meal! We also found that the dipping sauces I bought tasted amazing on the veggies and salad too. The spicy ranch one took my salad to a whole new level!
To finish off our game day fun I put together these easy little football cupcake toppers to dress up our dessert. Ok, does anyone else here have a hard time finding cupcake toppers to fit in with some of their less mainstream themes? I do! So let me share with you how I make my own cupcake toppers for my parties for almost nothing in cost.
All you need is a piece of cardstock paper, $0.99 stickers and a few toothpicks. Simply stick the toothpicks in between the paper and the sticker then cut around the image. Easy peasy!
We made the most out of our day and had a lot of fun doing it! Oh. . and did I mention that we painted the kids faces up to look like football players and allowed them to toss around a football indoors while mom put together the meal? Fun doesn’t always have to be expensive or even involve going somewhere. Sometimes the most fun times can be made just spending time together at home.
Do you and your family like to watch sports together? Are you planning to host or attend any “BIG game” parties this year? If you are, what’s your “go to” dish to bring to the party?
